Chris Schwarz, woodworker, hand tool expert and editor of Popular Woodworking Magazine, had a chance to give our Red Tape a try.  His review can be found  in his online article, “Get Mired in Red Tape.”

We extend a very gracious ‘thank you’ to Chris for taking the time to give our tape a try and for the very helpful article.

The editors of ShopNotes, one of our favorite woodworking magazines, had a chance to test Red Tape out around their shop and share their thoughts in the latest issue (Vol. 18, Issue 108).  Their positive review can be found  in the “Great Gear” department, page 49.

We’re excited to announce we’ve made the Popular Woodworking Magazine’s Top 12 list of best tools in 2009.

We’d like to thank the Academy, mom, our many friends…

:-)

But seriously, a deep thanks to editor Chris Schwarz for the honors and to all woodworkers out there who keep one of the finest crafts alive.

Let’s see how this goes.

Create a product you believe in: check.

Work to get your brand name recognized in national publications: check.

Work to get that product distributed through the finest retailers: check.

Hear about supplier quality control people napping on the job: check.

Put all orders to a grinding stop: check.

Sorry to break the news but that’s pretty much where we are at the moment. We’ve had to switch suppliers at a time of year where many folks would like to see our rolls stuffing stockings over fireplaces aglow with wood they can’t believe they’re just burning rather than turning into a piece of art. We’d like to see the rolls in your stockings too but we have to face the facts that we’d rather see rolls that measure properly and don’t smear hanging there than not. We are currently in the process of creating a test batch through the new supplier and if that batch meets our standards then we will resume production and supplies to  Lee Valley Tools, Rockler and other distributors who’ve expressed interest. Meanwhile we apologize and will work hard  to deliver on the promise that “Good things come to those who wait.” We will post the results of the test batch when it arrives (approx. New Years), and production (approx. mid Jan. 10) so please stay tuned.
